me and the kitchen.
i love food and i love to eat. so from that i learned how to cook and then bake. self-taught ako sa pagluluto at pag bebake. i started cooking at the age of 5 with eggs and hot dogs, and cooked my first adobo and steamed my first puto by the age of 7. i baked my first cupcake and cookie using our oven toaster by the age of 8 with my playmate Rose.
i grew up not buying cooked meals from carinderia or fast foods and tinetreat kami ng father ko sa mga casual dining where he can assure the quality of the food na sineserve samin (my father’s from the food industry, pero di sya chef).
growing up with a family that knows how to cook well is a gift. they answered my questions about foods, they taste my goods and criticize but then encouraged me to try again to get bet better after my every failure, at number one believer ko si Papa.
at the young age of 14, my father asked me to get trained on their company bakery. there, na enhanced and skills ko in baking, learned the proper way of everything and get my self burnt. the next summer, i was then trained on their high-end-italian-fine-dining restaurant. another one of a kind experience for me na mapaligiran ng mga chef at mga ingredients na doon ko lang nakilala at nakita. i was 15 then, they trust me to be left at the cold kitchen preparing salads and plating desserts alone.
i decided to took up hotel and restaurant management on college, to feed myself more of the knowledge i need to be better on my chosen path. i applied the skills i learned from the training i got, and got to be one of the students na pinanlaban ng school ko sa isang cookfest. one of the best experiences.
i learned everything from scratch, it just so happen that i have the best people around to guide me. it just so happen that i have a very supportive father.
i know i am destined for this, and i will strive to feed myself more of what i need to be better than the best that i know i can be.
